About
The third season of My Hero Academia is where the story gets bigger and darker. Studio Bones made it, with Kenji Nagasaki as director, Yosuke Kuroda planning the scripts, and Yuki Hayashi writing the music. It has 25 episodes and aired in Japan on ytv and NTV from April 7 to September 29, 2018. It adapts parts of volumes 8 to 14 of Kohei Horikoshi's manga.
The series takes place in a world where most people are born with a Quirk, a special power that is different for each person. Some people use their Quirks to become professional heroes, while villains use theirs to commit crimes. Izuku Midoriya, called Deku, was born without a Quirk. He then received a power called One For All from All Might, the greatest hero of all. Now Deku studies at U.A. High School in Class 1-A, along with classmates such as the hot-tempered Katsuki Bakugo and the calm Shoto Todoroki.
The season opens during the summer break. The students of Class 1-A and Class 1-B travel to a hidden place in the forest for a hard training camp. Pro heroes push them to make their Quirks much stronger. The kids train from morning to night, and they also have fun, like cooking together and testing their courage at night. But the camp does not stay calm. The League of Villains, led by the angry young man Tomura Shigaraki, attacks the camp. The students must fight for their lives, and one of them is taken away by the villains.
What follows is one of the most famous parts of the whole series. Deku and his friends must decide if they should break the rules to save their classmate. The pro heroes plan a raid on the villains' hideout. All Might finally faces the mysterious All For One, the powerful evil leader who stands behind Shigaraki. These episodes are full of big fights, but they are also full of feeling. They show the cost of being a hero, and they change the world of the story in lasting ways. The show handles these moments with care, and many fans call them a high point of the series.
After that storm, the season slows down and turns to school life again. The students move into new dorms, create special finishing moves, and take the Provisional Hero License Exam. This is a test that would let them act as heroes in real emergencies. The exam brings in students from other hero schools, which adds new rivals and new friends. The last episodes also begin the next big story, as Deku meets older U.A. students and hears about a dangerous criminal group.
Season 3 mixes action, comedy, and drama. Its themes include trust, growing up, and what it truly means to save people. It is a strong season for anyone who has watched the first two, and it shows Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki all starting to grow in new ways.
