Kabenuke Bug's dungeon-skipping fantasy fills out its cast: Nao Ojika, Tatsuhisa Suzuki and five more join the 2027 anime
The TV anime of Nikita Kitagawa's light novel, about a dodge-only adventurer who can slip through dungeon walls, named seven more voice actors and its full staff on October 29. Haruki Kasugamori directs at Durandal and Tengu Kobou.
A boy whose only skill is dodging discovers it lets him pass through the wall of a boss room, and the rewards behind it never run out. That glitch drives Saijaku na Boku wa "Kabenuke Bug" de Nariagaru, and on October 29 the 2027 TV anime added seven voice actors and published its full staff list.
Most of the newcomers form the party that started Anri's troubles. Tatsuhisa Suzuki voices its leader Guillermo, feared as one of Garabozo's "big three," who threw Anri out. His adventurers are Anna Yamaki as the magic swordswoman Scarlet, Shun Horie as the thief Latch, Ayasa Ito as the mage Maris and Hinata Tadokoro as Volx, a calm, heavily armored warrior.
Two more characters stand apart from that group. Nao Ojika plays Auroia, a senior adventurer known as the Witch of Garabozo, and Kengo Tsujii is Don, a smith who runs a weapon shop in town and keeps an eye on the adventurers who visit it. They join the two leads cast in August, when the adaptation was first announced: Anri is voiced by Riko Aono, and Elelet by Momoka Terasawa.
From exile to infinite loot
Anri is trying to earn enough to look after his sickly younger sister, but his lone skill, Evasion, is seen as worthless, and his party expels him. Going into a dungeon by himself, he finds that Evasion carries him straight through the boss room's walls, letting him collect first-clear rewards again and again and climb from there.
The team
Director Haruki Kasugamori, who previously helmed Dragon Goes House-Hunting, leads the production, which is split between two studios, Durandal and Tengu Kobou. Hiroshi Hosokawa writes the scripts and handles series composition. Hiroshi Miyamoto and Sumakidori share character design and chief animation direction, with Sumakidori also designing costumes and props. Kyohei Matsuno composes the music and Yuichi Imaizumi is sound director. No month or broadcaster has been given beyond the 2027 window.
Nikita Kitagawa began the story on Shosetsuka ni Naro in February 2021. Kodansha's light novel edition, illustrated by Meto Sasame, ended with its second volume in May 2024. Yui Hata's manga adaptation has outlasted the novels: now running on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app, it reached its 12th volume on July 9, and Kodansha USA has been releasing it in English on K Manga since September 17.
