Romelia War Chronicle returns for its second cour in April 2027, with Hiro Shimono singing the new ending
The official site confirmed on October 31 that the split-cour fantasy resumes in April 2027 and that Hiro Shimono performs the ending theme for its second half. The song title, exact date and stations are still to come.
Romelia's campaign is only at its midpoint. The official site and X account for Romelia War Chronicle confirmed on October 31 that the anime's second cour begins broadcasting in April 2027, and that voice actor Hiro Shimono will sing the ending theme for that half of the series.
The announcement leaves several blanks. Shimono's song has no title yet, no exact premiere date was given, and the TV stations for the spring run have not been named.
A split run planned from the start
The two-part structure was revealed back in March, when staff took the stage at Pony Canyon's AnimeJapan 2026 booth and confirmed the show would be split into two separate cours. AniList lists the fall run at 12 episodes and carries the second part as its own 12-episode entry for spring 2027, in line with the 24-episode total in Final Weapon's release schedule.
In Japan, the first cour premiered on October 3 at 9 p.m. as an exclusive online release on Anime Times, U-NEXT and Netflix, ahead of television. Terrestrial broadcasts followed from October 5 on Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto and CBC. Crunchyroll carries the show in North America with new episodes on Saturdays, and its current schedule puts episode 12, the close of this cour, on December 19, with dates subject to change.
Music for each half
Shimono inherits the closing slot from "Nightfall feat. Maika Loubté," the fall ending performed by the show's own composer, KOHTA YAMAMOTO. The fall opening is "Akatsuki ni Naru" by Chogakusei. Nothing has been said yet about the spring opening.
The story and the people behind it
The story begins where most fantasy epics stop. Once the Demon King is dead, Prince Henri cancels his engagement to Romelia von Graham and sends her home in disgrace to a devastated province. Rather than accept that, she leans on her talent for commerce and bargaining to build an army, rebuild the region's towns and hold off the monsters that remain a threat to humanity.
Atra is the studio, and the official staff list credits Koji Saito as series director with Takahiro Hirata as assistant director. Aya Satsuki writes the scripts and oversees series composition; the character designs come from a two-person team. Romelia herself is played by Yuna Nemoto, Henri by Yuya Hirose, and her companions Al and Ray by Jin Ogasawara and Tomohiro Ono.
The source is Ryo Ariyama's web novel, which began appearing on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2019 before Shogakukan picked it up for print. Ryo Kamito draws the manga version, launched in 2021, which Seven Seas Entertainment publishes for English readers.
