Romelia Senki: Maou wo Taoshita nochi mo Jinrui Yabasou dakara Guntai Soshiki Shita Part II

This is the second half of an anime about a young noblewoman who has to fight for her country after the big war seems to be over. The story comes from a Japanese web novel by Ryo Ariyama. The author began posting it online in August 2019. A publisher called Shogakukan later turned it into printed light novels. A light novel is a short Japanese novel with many drawings, and it is written for young adults. The series also has a manga version drawn by Ryo Kamito. The anime is made by the studio Atra. The first part began in October 2026, and this second part is planned for April 2027. It can be watched on Crunchyroll.

The world of the story is a kingdom that has just come through a long war with a Demon King. The Demon King has been beaten, but the danger has not gone away. Many of his monsters and followers are still alive. Some people are still held as prisoners. The far edges of the kingdom must often deal with these threats mostly on their own.

Romelia von Graham is the daughter of a count. She was part of the group that fought the Demon King, along with a prince named Henri Lleus Lionel. After the victory, the people praise the prince as a great hero. But he ends his engagement to Romelia. Suddenly she is alone, with no partner and no friends from the war beside her. Many stories would end with the villain defeated. This one starts a new fight at that point.

Romelia does not give up. She uses the skills she learned during the war. She decides to rescue the people who are still trapped and to clear away the monsters that remain. The big idea of the series is that being able to lead people is not the same as being famous. Romelia has to gather soldiers, give them a plan, and keep them together. She builds a real army, step by step, with little money and little help from the court. Because of this, the story feels more like a war story about teams, orders, and supplies than a normal fairy tale about one lone hero.

The cast is large. Besides Romelia and the prince, many soldiers appear, such as Al and Ray. In the anime, Yuna Nemoto voices Romelia, and Yuya Hirose voices the prince. The people around her matter as much as she does, and the story spends time on how a group of different fighters learns to trust a new leader.

The main themes are unfair treatment, real skill compared with a good name, and the hard work of building something new after a victory. The tone is serious but hopeful. There is fighting, but the story is also about duty and about caring for the people under your command.

By September 2024, the light novels had more than 400,000 copies in print. Seven Seas Entertainment also released the manga in English, with volume 1 coming out in January 2026. This second part carries Romelia's campaign forward, so it is best enjoyed after the first part.
