Ochako Uraraka

Ochako Uraraka comes from a poor household and still carries an old flip phone because her family cannot easily afford a new one, a small detail that reflects her down-to-earth, practical nature. She wants to become a hero mainly so she can earn enough money to support her parents, a goal that is less flashy than many of her classmates' but just as sincere.

Ochako is cheerful, warm, and often blunt without quite meaning to be, saying exactly what she thinks even when it surprises people. She is also sharply observant, able to see both the good and bad in a person clearly, and she can turn serious and focused the moment a real crisis demands it. She develops quiet feelings for Izuku Midoriya, the classmate who first came up with his hero name "Deku," though she keeps those feelings mostly to herself to stay focused on her training.

Ochako looks up to the rescue hero Thirteen, whose careful, people-first approach shapes how she wants to fight as a hero herself. She is badly hurt in a dangerous clash with the villain Toga, who ends up saving her life anyway through a blood transfusion that costs Toga her own. Ochako's steady growth from an eager student into someone ready to risk everything for others runs through the whole series.
