About
My Hero Academia Season 7 is the seventh TV season of the superhero anime based on Kohei Horikoshi's manga. It was made by the studio Bones, with Kenji Nagasaki as chief director and Naomi Nakayama as director. It aired in Japan from May 4 to October 12, 2024. It has 21 episodes, a little shorter than the 25 episodes in most earlier seasons. Before it began, four short recap specials called Memories aired in April 2024 to remind fans of what had happened. The season covers manga volumes 34 through 39, or chapters 329 to 398.
In this world, most people have a Quirk, a special power they are born with. Heroes use Quirks to protect people, and villains use them to cause harm. By this point in the story, Japan is in very bad shape. A huge battle with the Paranormal Liberation Front, a large group of villains, has left cities broken. Many people no longer trust heroes to keep them safe, and many heroes have quit.
The biggest threats are Tomura Shigaraki, the young leader of the villains, and All For One, the evil master who has guided him for years. Their power is now terrifying. All Might, the former number one hero, can no longer fight like he once did. So he asks for help from outside Japan. He calls on Star and Stripe, the top Pro Hero of the United States. Her Quirk is very strong, and she flies to Japan to take on Shigaraki. Her arrival opens the season with one of its biggest fights.
After that, the season builds toward a final war between heroes and villains. The Pro Heroes who are still standing, such as Endeavor and Hawks, work on a plan to split the enemy forces so they can be fought one group at a time. The students of U.A. High School, including the hero Izuku Midoriya, also prepare to join the fight. They are still teenagers, but they have grown a lot since they first started school.
This season is not only about punches and powers. The students talk about a hard question: can they save villains, and not just beat them? Deku, in particular, wants to reach out to the people on the other side and understand why they became villains. That idea gives the season a lot of emotion, because many of the enemies have painful pasts.
The music includes the openings "Tagatame" by TK from Ling tosite sigure and "Curtain Call" by Yuuri, and the endings "Tsubomi" by Omoinotake and "Rokutosei" by Zarame. Season 7 is a dark, intense part of the series, with big battles almost every week and many surprises. It is meant for fans who have followed the earlier seasons, and it leads straight into the show's final season.
