Yor Forger

Yor Forger works as a quiet, unremarkable clerk at Berlint's City Hall. In secret, she is one of the city's most feared killers, known in criminal circles as the "Thorn Princess." She took up this dangerous double life as a teenager after her parents died, when she needed a way to support herself and her little brother, Yuri Briar, and ended up joining a secret assassin organization called Garden.

Away from her missions, Yor comes across as warm, polite, and a little awkward. She struggles badly with ordinary social situations, is often picked on by her coworkers, and cannot cook to save her life. She also cannot handle alcohol at all; even a small drink leaves her passed out cold, which is a running source of trouble for her. None of this matches the calm, deadly skill she shows whenever her other job calls for it.

Her ordinary life changes when she agrees to a marriage of convenience with Loid Forger, mainly to keep up appearances for her coworkers. She comes to believe his cover story completely, including that their adopted daughter, Anya, is his birth child, and she grows to genuinely love them both, along with their dog, Bond. Yor never learns that Yuri secretly works for the secret police, just as he never learns about Garden. Over time, feelings that started as pretend begin to feel real, and Yor finds herself slowly falling for the husband she married only for cover.
