Anya Forger

Anya Forger looks like an ordinary little girl attending Eden Academy, but she hides a secret that no one in her family knows about: she can read minds. She was once an experimental test subject known only as "Subject 007," and after escaping that life she bounced between several foster families before Loid Forger adopted her as part of his undercover mission.

Anya is bright, brave, and full of energy, even though her grades are terrible, since she often just reads the answers straight from other students' heads instead of studying. She hides her telepathy from her new parents because she worries they might give her up if they ever found out what she really is. Instead, she quietly uses her power to help Loid and Yor without them realizing it, treating their secret spy work almost like a fun game only she is in on.

She names the family dog Bond, after a cartoon hero she admires, and grows close to her best friend, Becky Blackbell. Her relationship with classmate Damian Desmond starts badly, since he treats her coldly at first, but Anya keeps trying to win him over anyway, partly because her father wants her to stay close to the Desmond family. A family friend nicknamed Franky even calls her "Scruffy." Despite her strange past, Anya has become the emotional center that slowly turns two trained liars into a real family.
