Mismis Klass

Mismis Klass is the captain of the Empire's 907th Unit, the small team that Iska serves in after his release from prison. On paper she outranks everyone under her command, but in practice her combat skills are clearly the weakest in the unit, and most of her squad quietly treats Iska as the one who actually leads them in the field.

What Mismis lacks in raw fighting ability, she makes up for as the team's emotional center. She keeps spirits up during hard missions and makes sure everyone gets the encouragement they need, even when her own tactical instincts are not especially sharp. She is also the oldest member of the 907th Unit by a good margin, yet she acts far younger than her years, keeping plush toys and frilly outfits around her quarters, and she bristles if anyone treats her like a kid rather than a grown woman.

Her situation changed the day she was accidentally exposed to a mysterious vortex and came out branded as an astral mage herself, the very kind of magic-user the Empire persecutes. Because of that, her unit now works hard to hide her condition, protecting her from the Empire's own experiments on people like her. Her power remains largely unknown even to her closest teammates, including Nene Alkastone and Rin Vispose, adding a layer of quiet risk beneath her usual cheerful chaos.
