Kikoru Shinomiya

Kikoru Shinomiya is the daughter of Isao Shinomiya, the Defense Force's Director General, and of a decorated captain named Hikari who died fighting a dangerous kaiju before the story begins. Kikoru fights using a powerful weapon that once belonged to her mother, a constant reminder of the loss that shaped her childhood.

After her mother's death, Kikoru's father raised her with strict, demanding training, pushing her hard to become one of the Defense Force's most skilled young fighters. Though his sternness can feel cold, it comes from a promise he made to himself to prepare her for danger, a role her mother had originally wanted the two of them to share.

Kikoru starts the story as a talented member of the Third Division, fighting alongside Kafka Hibino and Reno Ichikawa. After their original base is destroyed in a kaiju attack, she is moved to the elite First Division, where her skill and her family's legacy continue to push her toward the front lines. Despite her serious, no-nonsense attitude in battle, quiet moments with her father reveal a softer side beneath her fierce reputation.
