Yasutora Sado

Yasutora Sado, known to his friends as "Chad," is one of the closest friends of Ichigo Kurosaki. He has both Japanese and Mexican roots. He is very tall, at almost two meters, and he looks much older than a normal high school student.

Even with his huge size, Chad is gentle and meek. He rarely shows emotion, except when someone he cares about is in trouble. He almost never fights back against normal people, even bullies, unless he truly has to. He is very loyal and will stand beside Ichigo no matter what. He also has a soft spot for cute things, like small animals and the talking stuffed toy Kon. Chad is smart, too. He ranked 10th out of 322 students at school, higher than Ichigo.

His body is amazingly tough. Even before he gained any spirit powers, he survived things like a steel beam falling on him and being hit by a motorcycle. Later, he gains a special power that makes his right arm stronger and covers it in armor, which he uses to fight Hollows (evil spirits). He also once protected Ichigo's little sister Karin. Together with Orihime and Uryu Ishida, he follows Ichigo into many dangerous battles.
