Orihime Inoue

Orihime Inoue is one of the closest friends of Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach. She is a high school girl in Karakura Town who lives on her own. A distant aunt pays for her life as long as she keeps her grades up, and she does very well in school.

Her early life was sad. Her parents treated her and her older brother, Sora, very badly. When Sora turned eighteen, he took three-year-old Orihime and left home to raise her himself. Years later, Sora died after a car accident. Before that, he had given her a pair of hairpins. She once called them childish, but she has worn them every day since he died. Her best friend, Tatsuki Arisawa, protected her from bullies at school, and the two have been close ever since.

Orihime is gentle, cheerful, and a little odd. She often seems dreamy and a bit lost, has a wild imagination, and tends to rush into things without thinking. Her strange home cooking is a running joke. After Ichigo gains his powers, she also becomes aware of spirits and gains her own power, called Shun Shun Rikka. It is mostly used to heal and to undo harm, and she can also use it to block attacks. She has deep feelings for Ichigo and admires Rukia Kuchiki, even while she worries about Rukia's close bond with him.
