Felt

Felt grew up as a thief in the poorest slums of the capital city, relying on quick wit and quicker hands to survive. Her hard childhood left her deeply suspicious of authority, and she has little patience for the nobles and rules that she feels have never done anything for people like her.

Felt's life changes the day she steals a strange insignia from Emilia, hoping for an easy profit. Instead, the insignia reacts to her in a way no one expects, dragging her into the contest to choose the kingdom's next ruler as an unwilling candidate. Felt wants nothing to do with royal politics at first, since her instincts push her toward tearing down the very system she is suddenly part of rather than ruling over it.

Despite her tough, guarded personality, Felt has a real soft spot for Rom, the elderly caretaker who raised her like family in the slums. As the Royal Selection forces her into the company of knights and nobles, including her newly sworn protector Reinhard van Astrea, Felt slowly has to reckon with a future she never wanted but can no longer avoid.
