Ram works as one of two maids serving the eccentric noble Roswaal in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World, alongside her twin sister Rem. Long before the story begins, Ram was a gifted young prodigy in magic, but she lost nearly all her power and was left physically weak after a brutal attack on her home village. Roswaal has cared for her ever since, healing a small amount of her lingering damage every single day.

Ram comes across as distant and a little selfish, keeping most people, including Subaru Natsuki, at arm's length with sharp, teasing remarks; she even refuses to use his real name, calling him by an insulting nickname instead. Underneath that cool exterior, she is quietly testing the people around her, judging whether they deserve her trust. Outside of housework, where she lags far behind her sister's skill, Ram rarely admits weakness.

What truly defines Ram is her devotion to two people: Roswaal, whom she considers without equal, and her twin sister, Rem, whom she loves fiercely even while trading constant, dry jokes with her. She leans on that bond for strength after losing so much of her own power, and that quiet loyalty, hidden behind her sarcasm, slowly earns her a real place among Subaru's allies, including Emilia and the spirit Beatrice.

The fourth season of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- aired in Japan in 2026, from April to September. Like the earlier seasons, it was made by the animation studio White Fox. It is based on the light novels by Tappei Nagatsuki, with art by Shinichirou Otsuka. The story first began as a free web novel in 2012, and it later became one of the best-known isekai series. "Isekai" is a Japanese word for stories where a person from our world ends up in a different, fantasy world. The hero is Subaru Natsuki, a young man who used to stay shut inside his room back in Japan. In the fantasy kingdom of Lugunica, he has one strange and painful power. When he dies, time goes back to an earlier point, and he gets another try. Only Subaru remembers what happened before. Everyone else forgets. This means he must suffer every death alone, and he often cannot explain to his friends why he knows what he knows. He uses this power to protect Emilia, a half-elf girl who is trying to become the next ruler of the kingdom. This season picks up right after Season 3. That season ended with a huge fight in Priestella, a city built around water and canals. Subaru and his friends won, but they paid a terrible price. Rem, the kind maid who loves Subaru, is still trapped in a deep sleep that does not end. Crusch, a powerful noble, has lost her memories. The knight Julius has lost his name, so most people no longer remember who he is. These losses were caused by a power called the "Authority of Gluttony," which can eat away a person's memories and identity. Subaru refuses to give up on them. He hears about Shaula, a mysterious wise figure who is said to see everything and know everything. Shaula lives in the Pleiades Watchtower. This lonely tower stands far away in the Auguria Dunes, a deadly desert full of storms, unknown magic beasts, and other dangers. Even Reinhard, the strongest swordsman in the kingdom, could not reach the tower. So Subaru gathers a small team, including Emilia, the young spirit Beatrice, the merchant Anastasia, Julius, and Ram, and they set out across the sand. The season was split into two parts. The first part, called "The Loss Arc," has 11 episodes and started on April 8, 2026. The second part, "The Recapture Arc," has 8 episodes and started in August 2026. Its first episode was shown early at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles. In total the season has 19 episodes. The names of the two parts tell you the shape of the story: first the heroes face what they have lost, then they try to win it back. Re:ZERO is known for being dark and tense. It mixes fantasy adventure with horror, mystery, and strong feelings. Subaru is not a perfect hero. He makes mistakes, he gets scared, and he often breaks down under pressure. Watching him try again and again is a big part of what makes the show special. This season adds the feeling of a hard journey, with the desert itself acting like an enemy. Most of the main team returns. Director Masahiro Shinohara and character designer Haruka Segawa both came back from Season 3, and Kenichiro Suehiro wrote the music again. Yusuke Kobayashi voices Subaru, Rie Takahashi voices Emilia, and Fairouz Ai joined the cast as Shaula. Fans liked it right away. During its first weeks on air, the season was at the top of the weekly Spring 2026 rankings on the site Anime Corner, three weeks in a row.
