Yukichi Fukuzawa

Yukichi Fukuzawa is the president of the Armed Detective Agency, a quiet, serious man who rarely shows emotion but commands total respect from everyone who works under him. Long before founding the Agency, he served as a government assassin and personal bodyguard to a man who has since become the head of the rival Port Mafia, giving Fukuzawa a complicated history with the city's criminal underworld.

Fukuzawa originally built the Agency for one specific reason: to give the brilliant but directionless detective Ranpo Edogawa a place where his talents could finally matter. Since then, it has grown into a safe harbor for other people who did not fit in anywhere else either, including the troubled young fighter Atsushi Nakajima.

Despite his cold, unreadable exterior, Fukuzawa is known to be unexpectedly fond of children and animals, hinting at a gentler side he rarely lets anyone see. He also serves as a mentor to the strict, idealistic Doppo Kunikida, and his history with an old childhood friend who now commands a dangerous government unit adds another thread connecting Fukuzawa's past to the dangers the Agency faces in the present.
