Doppo Kunikida

Doppo Kunikida is one of the most disciplined members of the Armed Detective Agency, a man who lives by a strict personal code of ideals that he keeps written down in a notebook he carries everywhere. He plans everything carefully and hates when his schedule gets disrupted, which makes being partnered with the unpredictable Osamu Dazai a constant source of frustration for him.

Despite his short temper around pranks and chaos, Kunikida is deeply reasonable and fair, holding himself to the same high standards he expects from others. He looks up to the Agency's president, Yukichi Fukuzawa, as a mentor and role model, trying to live up to the kind of steady leadership Fukuzawa shows.

Outside the Agency, Kunikida has kept a long friendship with a novelist for many years, a rare steady relationship for a man who otherwise pours most of his energy into work and his ideals. His rigid, by-the-book nature makes him the perfect balance to Dazai's carefree chaos, even if the two rarely admit how well they actually work as partners.
