Momonga

Momonga is the player name of a video game character who finds himself trapped inside his own avatar long after the virtual world he loved should have shut down. In the game called YGGDRASIL, he built and led a guild of forty-one members known as Ainz Ooal Gown, but one by one his friends drifted away to focus on real life, until he was the last one still logged in on the night the servers were set to close forever.

Instead of logging out, Momonga wakes to find that the game world has become real, his castle Nazarick is now a living place, and the non-player characters he once programmed can think and feel on their own. Taking on the name Ainz Ooal Gown in honor of his old guild, he sets out to find any of his former guildmates who might also be trapped in this new world, while keeping Nazarick and its inhabitants safe.

Because his skeletal body runs on the old game's rules, Momonga finds his emotions dulled and his moral sense strangely flexible, so he carries out ruthless acts without much hesitation that would have horrified him before. Still, he remains deeply loyal to the creations and followers under him, including Albedo, Shalltear Bloodfallen, and Demiurge, treating their wellbeing and Nazarick's standing as his main priorities as he carves out a new place for himself in this strange world.
