Mash Burnedead

Mash Burnedead is the hero of the story. He is a boy with no magic in a world where magic decides everything. People without it are treated badly, so his adoptive father, Regro Burnedead, raised him far from other people, deep in the forest. There, Mash spent his days training his body until it became incredibly strong.

To stay safe, Mash enters Easton Magic Academy with the help of a fake magic mark. He calls his fighting style "Muscle Magic." Instead of casting spells, he solves problems with raw physical power. He also carries an iron wand that can change shape into sports gear.

Mash speaks in a flat, calm voice, but he is kind and unselfish. He is also very fond of cream puffs. He makes friends at school, including his roommate Finn Ames. His true rival is Lance Crown, and Dot Barrett says he is Mash's rival too. Lemon Irvine calls herself Mash's fiancée.
