Jean-Pierre Polnareff

Jean-Pierre Polnareff is a French traveler who joins Jotaro Kujo's group during Stardust Crusaders, the third JoJo's Bizarre Adventure arc, hoping to find the man who murdered his younger sister. He is loud, proud, and quick to boast, but underneath the bravado he is still grieving, determined to see his revenge through no matter the cost.

His Stand, a fighting spirit called Silver Chariot, takes the form of an armored swordsman that fights with a rapier at incredible speed, later gaining the ability to turn its blade invisible. Polnareff grows close to fellow travelers Noriaki Kakyouin and Mohammed Avdol during the long trip to Egypt, and losing his friends along the way hits him especially hard, since he has already lost so much before the story even begins.

Polnareff's story does not end with Stardust Crusaders. Years later, in a later arc of the series, he is horribly crippled by a powerful villain while protecting someone important to him. Rather than die from his wounds, he survives by merging his mind with his own Stand disc, and for a long stretch of his life he exists inside the body of a talking turtle. Despite the tragedy and strangeness that follows him, Polnareff remains one of the series' most loyal and good-hearted characters, always ready to fight for the people he loves.
