Gen Asagiri

Gen Asagiri was once a famous mentalist and TV personality before the world turned to stone, and that background shapes everything he does after waking up. Tsukasa Shishiou revives him first and sends him to track down Senkuu and confirm his death, but once Gen sees what Senkuu's science can really do, he switches sides and joins the Kingdom of Science instead. He eventually earns a spot as one of the Five Wise Generals who guide the rebuilding of civilization.

He carries himself with a showman's confidence, calling himself an expert in how people think, and he is not shy about bragging. Gen can be lazy, self-centered, and a little sly, and he is a smooth liar who never seems nervous even when he is bending the truth. Despite all that, he is not cruel at heart. He cannot bring himself to really hurt people, and his trickery usually ends up helping his new friends rather than hurting them.

Gen's shifting loyalty, from Tsukasa's agent to Senkuu's ally, makes him one of the story's more complicated figures. He also works closely with Ryuusui Nanami and the other Five Wise Generals, often using his read on people to smooth over conflicts the more straightforward members cause.
