Taiju Ooki

Taiju Ooki is an ordinary, easygoing high schooler who ends up at the center of Dr. STONE almost by accident, simply because he happens to be Senkuu's best friend since childhood. After the world turns to stone, Taiju is one of the first to break free, and his loyalty to Senkuu never wavers through anything that follows. In the rebuilt Kingdom of Science, he ends up leading the farming side of the Power Team.

Taiju is a true pacifist. Even though he has incredible stamina and physical toughness, he refuses to throw a punch at anyone and would rather take a beating than fight back. That stubborn gentleness earns him respect from unlikely people, including the brutal fighter Magma, who admires how much punishment Taiju can absorb without breaking.

Taiju's heart belongs to Yuzuriha Ogawa, a crush he carried since before the petrification. The two eventually marry, and their relationship is one of the series' steadiest sources of warmth. While he is not a scientist like Senkuu or a fighter like Kohaku, Taiju's unshaken kindness and refusal to give up on people make him just as essential to the group's survival.
