Reina Kousaka

Reina Kousaka went to the same junior high school as Kumiko Oumae and has played trumpet since she was young, inspired by her father, who plays the instrument professionally. She keeps up with the wind ensemble club once she moves on to high school, continuing to chase the same high standard her father set for her.

Reina comes across as cool and distant to most of her classmates, and her naturally serious expression makes people assume she is unfriendly even though she is actually polite underneath it. What really defines her is her dedication: she practices far more than she has to, often staying behind after official club hours just to keep improving on her own.

Reina's history with Kumiko Oumae is complicated by something Kumiko once said to her back in junior high, a moment that still shapes how carefully Reina treats their renewed friendship in high school.
