Muichiro Tokito is the Mist Hashira, one of the nine top swordfighters of the Demon Slayer Corps, despite being only fourteen years old when he reaches that rank. He comes from a long line of demon slayers, though he does not learn this about himself until much later in the story.
Muichiro lost both his parents and was raised by his twin brother, Yuichiro. When a demon attacked them, Yuichiro died protecting him, and the shock of that loss wiped out most of Muichiro's childhood memories. Amane Ubuyashiki, wife of the Corps' leader, found him afterward and brought him into the organization. Without clear memories of his own past, Muichiro grew distant and foggy-headed, drifting through his thoughts instead of staying present, and he leaned on cold logic rather than feeling.
When he first meets Tanjirou Kamado, he is distrustful and dismissive, but the two grow closer once Muichiro begins to recover his memories. During the attack on the Swordsmith Village, he fights alongside fellow Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and Genya Shinazugawa and saves the swordsmiths Kanamori and Kotetsu from being killed. His story takes a tragic turn later when he faces the demon Kokushibo in battle, only to learn that Kokushibo was once a demon slayer himself, and is in fact Muichiro's own distant ancestor. Muichiro dies in that fight, but not before landing a crucial blow.

Swordsmith Village Arc is the third season of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime. Studio ufotable made it, with Haruo Sotozaki directing, as with earlier seasons. It ran for 11 episodes, from April 9 to June 18, 2023, and both its opening and closing episodes were longer than a normal TV episode. The season adapts chapters 98 to 127 of Koyoharu Gotouge's manga. On MyAnimeList it has over a million members, which shows how many people follow the series. The story is set in Japan's Taisho era, the years just after 1912. Tanjiro Kamado is a kind young swordsman who hunts demons, monsters that eat people and only die from sunlight or a special blade. He travels with his little sister Nezuko, who was turned into a demon but still protects humans. Their goal is to turn her back into a human and to defeat Muzan Kibutsuji, the first demon. After the hard fight in the Entertainment District, Tanjiro's sword is badly chipped. So he travels to a hidden place where the Corps' blades are made. Only a few people know where it is, and the craftsmen there wear funny masks. Tanjiro hopes to get a fresh sword from Haganezuka, his short-tempered swordsmith, and to rest and heal. In the hot springs and quiet streets, he meets two of the Hashira, the elite top fighters of the group. Muichiro Tokito is a young genius with a cold, distant manner who seems to forget things easily. Mitsuri Kanroji is cheerful, warm, and full of feeling, with a surprising fighting style. Tanjiro also crosses paths with Genya Shinazugawa, a rough and angry fellow trainee who hides his own secret. The peace does not last. The demon world is shaken after one of Muzan's strongest followers was killed, and Muzan sends two powerful Upper Rank demons to the hidden village. One is a strange creature who lives in a vase and treats killing like art. The other is a fearful old demon who can split into several forms, each one tied to a different emotion. The swordsmiths cannot fight, so Tanjiro, Nezuko, Genya, and the two Hashira must protect them and the secret of how the swords are made. This season is known for some of the best animation on TV. ufotable mixes hand drawing with computer effects to make the fights look bright, fast, and full of motion. The water, mist, and flame effects are a treat to watch. Beyond the action, the season explores Muichiro's lost memories, Genya's hard feelings toward his brother, and Mitsuri's struggle to accept herself as she is. Its key themes are family, courage, and the idea that anyone can grow stronger with help from others. It is an exciting season that pushes the main story toward its final battles.
