Kurea Howa

Kurea Howa spends her days baking as a pastry chef at Patisserie Chouchou, a quiet life that hides a much bigger secret: she is also the Pretty Cure known as Cure Eclair. For much of the story, fans and characters alike are left guessing who is really behind the mask, since Kurea manages to keep her double identity carefully hidden.

Her backstory turns out to be more complicated than it first appears. Although she really did spend time at the Curett Detective Agency, Kurea eventually admits that she was never actually a working detective there, a confession that reframes a lot of what came before. That history becomes a target when the phantom thief Luluka Moria sets out to shatter the gem tied to Kurea's heart, a plan meant to erase her Precure powers and her memories of ever having been part of the detective world, leaving her to live quietly as just a pastry chef.

Rather than accepting that fate, Kurea chooses to fight for her full self. With Anna Akechi and Mikuru Kobayashi refusing to let her disappear into an ordinary life, Kurea regains her memories and transforms once again as Cure Eclair, standing beside them instead of fading into the simple, safe life Luluka tried to give her.
