Game Sekai Tensei <Dankatsu>: Gamer wa [Dungeon Shuukatsu no Susume] wo <Hajime kara> Play Suru

Game Sekai Tensei Dankatsu has a very long full title. In English the story is known as Reincarnation in the Game World Dan-Katsu. It is an isekai story, which means a tale where a person is moved into another world. Here, the other world is a video game. The story began as a web novel by Kaede Nishikigi on Kakuyomu, a Japanese site where people post their own novels, in January 2021. TO Books then published it as a light novel from March 2022, with art by Shuri. A manga version with art by Hiroshi Asagi started in April 2022. By March 2026 the books had more than 3.5 million copies in print.

The anime was announced in March 2026. It is made by Studio Massket and directed by Nagisa Miyazaki. Yuji Kobayashi writes the scripts. It is planned for January 2027. The opening song is Play the Play by MindaRyn, and the ending song is My Life Story by Linkl Planet.

The game in the story is called Dungeon Job Hunting Recommendation, or DanKatsu for short. It is a role-playing game with 1,021 job classes and more than 400 possible endings. A class is the type of fighter you choose to be, such as a hero or an alchemist. The game is so deep that players keep finding new things to do.

The main character is a player named Zephyrus. He has played the game for more than 8,000 hours. One day he loses all his save data and dies from the shock. Then he wakes up inside the world of DanKatsu, as the main character of the game. In the anime, Yuto Uemura voices him.

Zephyrus joins Labyrinth Academy, the school where the main story of the game happens. He knows the game better than anyone, so he has a big advantage. He gets the Hero class, which is the best one in the game. He also finds that some classes that players see as weak or just for fun are seen in this world as strong. And some of the hardest dungeons have never been cleared by anyone.

So Zephyrus makes a plan to enjoy this world like a new game. He gathers classmates and helps them grow. He helps his shy childhood friend become an Alchemist and works to change the path of a selfish princess. Other cast members include Hanna, Sierra, Lana, and Ester. With strong friends beside him, he aims to conquer the dungeons.

The story is for fans of fantasy adventure and game-style worlds, and it is built on the fun of knowing the rules and using them well.
