A role-playing game with 1,021 playable jobs and more than 400 endings is the stage for Reincarnation in the Game World Dan-Katsu, and on November 4 its TV anime filled in the party around its hero. A second teaser PV, built from anime footage, the opening song and the cast's voices, introduced four new performers ahead of the January 2027 premiere.

Yuto Uemura has been attached as the protagonist Zephyrus since August, when the broadcast month was first set. He is now joined by Ayaka Nanase as Hanna, Kotone Izumi as Sierra, Hikaru Iida as Lana and Chihaya Asakura as Ester. The official X account had been teasing the reveal with a cast-guessing quiz since October 21.

The music is settled too: MindaRyn sings the opening, "Play the Play", and LINKL PLANET performs the ending, "My Life Story".

Studio Massket is animating, with Nagisa Miyazaki directing and Yuji Kobayashi writing the scripts and series composition. MyAnimeList lists Mahou Sensei Negima! among Miyazaki's earlier work and Kami no Niwatsuki Kusunoki-tei among Kobayashi's.

The story

A dedicated gamer wakes up as Zephyrus, the lead of the legendary RPG Dan-Katsu. He enrolls at the dungeon academy where the game is set and draws the Hero class, and because the upper dungeons have never been cleared, he gets to play the whole thing from the beginning, recruiting classmates with different classes as he goes. TO Books' August announcement names two of them: a timid childhood friend who becomes an Alchemist, and a strong-willed princess who becomes a Saint.

The novels

Kaede Nishikigi began writing the story on Kakuyomu in January 2021, and TO Books started printing it in March 2022 with illustrations by Shuri. The 16th volume arrived on August 15, and Hiroshi Asagi draws a manga version on TO Books' Corona EX site, with five volumes out. Counting print and digital, the series has passed 400,000 copies. Tobikawa publishes the novels in English and French.

Broadcast stations have not been announced yet.
