Destiny Unchain Online

Destiny Unchain Online is a fantasy adventure about a gamer and a very bad game bug. Its full title in English is How I Became the Crimson Devil. It began as a light novel series written by resn. A light novel is a short, illustrated book for young readers. Yachimoto draws the manga version, which runs in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app. A TV anime was announced on August 6, 2026. At the time of the announcement, no studio, cast, or air date had been shared.

The main character is Kou Mitsuki, a boy who is very good at online games. In the game world, players know him as Crim the Headhunter. His father has made a new full-dive VR game. In this kind of game, the player's mind goes inside the game world through a special device. Kou agrees to test it before the public can play.

The test goes badly. Bugs in the system trap him inside the game. He cannot log out. He is also turned into a girl from the vampire race, and he begins in a remote forest. At first, it is a messy and funny disaster. Slowly, it becomes a real adventure as he learns the rules of this world, makes new friends, and takes on the game's challenges. In time, he earns a famous title, the Crimson Demon Lord.

The story mixes comedy with adventure. It has the familiar fun of video game stories, like levels, skills, and teams, but with the twist of a hero who must live in a body that is not his own. It will likely appeal to readers who like gaming tales and fantasy.

The novels and manga are already popular in Japan, and the manga had reached its 13th collected volume by August 2026. Because the anime has few announced details, this overview only covers the verified setup.
