Umamusume: Pretty Derby calls off its October 22–23 Los Angeles concerts after U.S. visas for the cast never came through
Cygames cancelled the Peacock Theater stop of its first world tour, THE STAGE, a day after warning that visa approvals were late. In-person and streaming tickets will be refunded.
The Peacock Theater shows were meant to be the first time Umamusume: Pretty Derby's live tour played outside Japan. Instead, Cygames announced on October 20 that both Los Angeles performances of the 7th EVENT WORLD TOUR "THE STAGE", scheduled for October 22 and 23, are cancelled because the U.S. entry visas the performers needed could not be secured.
The warning came a day earlier. On October 19 the company said approvals were running late even though preparations, carried out with U.S.-based lawyers and promoters, had started more than six months before. After continuing to work through options with agencies and partners, it made the call with the shows only days away, and apologized to the fans it calls Trainers, to the cast and to partner staff, including for how late the notice came.
Every ticket is covered: both on-site admission and the online streaming passes will be refunded. For people who had already planned to travel to the venue, Cygames says it is weighing further steps and will post details on its official website.
Seventeen voice actresses were scheduled for the Los Angeles lineup, among them the performers behind Tokai Teio, Oguri Cap and Kitasan Black, per Inven Global. Siliconera points out that the cast also sing the franchise's songs, which ruled out any stand-in performers, and notes that Kuro Games' Wuthering Waves concert at the same theater on October 17 ran into a similar visa problem.
THE STAGE is the franchise's first world tour. Two Tokyo nights, June 20 and 21, got it under way, and London, Seoul and Yokohama remain on the itinerary, all still without dates.
The franchise began with a 13-episode TV anime in 2018. The Umamusume: Pretty Derby game arrived three years later, and an English-language release followed in 2025.
