Tomori Takamatsu fronts the band MyGO!!!!! as its vocalist and the writer of its lyrics, a role she almost didn't get a second chance at. In middle school, her previous band, Crychic, fell apart in a way that left her badly shaken, and for a long stretch afterward she avoided music groups entirely rather than risk going through that kind of loss again.
The experience left noticeable marks on her everyday behavior. She has a nervous stammer, avoids looking people in the eye, and carries an instinct to take the blame for arguments that have nothing to do with her, quirks that led classmates to brand her with an unflattering label she never asked for. Underneath all that awkwardness, though, she holds onto a quiet, genuine warmth toward the people she lets close, accepting their flaws without ever demanding they be anyone other than who they are.
She finds an outlet for her nervous energy in small, repetitive habits, gathering odd little treasures like bandage wrappers, smooth pebbles, and fallen leaves, and filling her notebooks with doodles of pill bugs. According to the director behind her design, she was built from the idea of what a punk-rock singer might look like underneath, with her struggles connecting to people meant to stand in for the larger theme of misunderstanding that runs through the whole show. Her bandmate Soyo Nagasaki carries some of that same old wound from Crychic's collapse, giving the two of them a bond neither needs to explain out loud.
On screen

This entry is the coming TV anime that brings back two of the BanG Dream! franchise's best-known bands at the same time: MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica. Official BanG Dream! channels revealed it on March 1, 2026, and said it will start airing in Japan in January 2027. Its final name has not been confirmed yet, so the one used here is only a working name for now. To see why fans care, it helps to look back. In 2023, the show BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! followed a group of girls who had all been hurt by the breakup of an earlier band called Crychic. They slowly came together to form MyGO!!!!!, a band built on raw and honest feelings, playing in small music clubs. In 2025, BanG Dream! Ave Mujica told the other side of that breakup. Former Crychic keyboard player Sakiko Togawa started a masked band that plays on grand theater stages, with each member hiding behind a stage name. That 13-episode run, made by the 3D animation studio Sanzigen and directed by Kodai Kakimoto, was a dark psychological drama. It was voted the most popular anime of Winter 2025 in a Dengeki Online reader poll. The two bands were planned as opposites, and this new anime puts them side by side. A short teaser video shows both groups playing their instruments. New art for it features Tomori Takamatsu, the singer of MyGO!!!!!, and Anon, the band's guitarist. No story summary has been released, so the plot is still unknown. There is also a step in between. A theater film, BanG Dream! Ave Mujica prima aurora, opens in Japan on October 16, 2026. It was first revealed in August 2025 under the name Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast, and was renamed in January 2026. Sanzigen made the film, with Kakimoto directing again. It takes place about six months after the band's return to the stage, and it was made to connect the Ave Mujica TV run to this new joint anime. The main girls from both bands are expected to return. From Ave Mujica, that means Sakiko, Mutsumi Wakaba, Uika Misumi, Umiri Yahata, and Nyamu Yutenji. From MyGO!!!!!, it means Tomori, Anon, and their bandmates. Details such as the episode count, staff, and story will come out closer to the January 2027 start.
