Ryuunosuke Tanaka

Ryuunosuke Tanaka is Karasuno's loudest presence on the court, a wing spiker who flies into a rage the instant he feels his team has been disrespected. His energy is intense and a little reckless, and he is usually the first one to start a fight he probably should not, often alongside his partner in mischief, Yuu Nishinoya, with the team's captain or vice-captain stepping in to rein them both back in.

Despite the constant noise, Tanaka genuinely respects his upperclassmen and takes his role seriously when it comes to looking out for Karasuno's newest, youngest players. He has a long-running crush on the team's manager, Kiyoko Shimizu, that he never manages to hide very well, and his tough attitude clearly runs in the family: his older sister is just as fiery as he is.

Years after high school, Tanaka settles into a steadier life, working as a personal trainer and eventually marrying Kiyoko, the manager he had admired from a distance for so long. Underneath all his shouting and bravado, he turns out to be exactly the kind of loyal, hard-working person his team always needed.
