Daichi Sawamura

Daichi Sawamura holds Karasuno's volleyball team together as its captain, anchoring the defense with receives that teammates can always count on. He leads with a steady, encouraging kindness most of the time, but he is not afraid to turn intimidating in an instant whenever the team needs real discipline, a shift that keeps even the rowdiest players in line.

His friendship with teammates Koushi Sugawara and Asahi Azumane goes back to the day all three joined the team together as first-years, and that early bond has grown into one of the most dependable friendships on the roster. Outside of volleyball, Daichi has known a fellow student and sports team captain since middle school, a relationship that quietly develops over the course of the story.

After graduating, Daichi trades the volleyball court for real-world responsibility, becoming a police officer. It is a fitting path for someone who spent his entire high school career protecting and guiding the people around him, just in a different uniform and a far more serious kind of game.
