Ruijerd Superdia

Ruijerd Superdia once led the Warrior Group of the Superd, called supards, a demon race that served faithfully under a powerful figure named Laplace. That loyalty turned into a nightmare when Laplace secretly handed every member of the group a cursed weapon that filled them with a terrible hunger to kill, even their own families. Under that curse, Ruijerd struck down his own son.

His son's dying act was to shatter the cursed weapon, which finally broke Laplace's hold over Ruijerd. Waking up to what he had done nearly drove him to end his own life, but he chose to keep living instead, and the surviving members of his Warrior Group swore together that they would one day make Laplace pay. Years later, after staying hidden and waiting for his chance, Ruijerd finally gets his revenge by stepping into a climactic battle between Laplace and a group of legendary heroes. Even with Laplace defeated, though, nothing can undo the harm already done, including the stigma that now follows every member of Ruijerd's race, who came to be feared and hated as mindless killers because of what Laplace made them do.

With his people's reputation in ruins, Ruijerd now travels the world trying to prove that supards are not the monsters people believe them to be. Along the way, he meets and looks after two young travelers, Rudeus and Eris, after a strange magical accident strands them far from home, and he promises to protect them and help them find their way back, treating them with the same quiet kindness that defines him despite everything he has lost.
