Meimei

Meimei belongs to the Three Princesses, the trio of star courtesans at the Verdigris House, where Maomao grew up in The Apothecary Diaries. She sits in the middle of the three in age, between the lively Pairin and the cool, reserved Joka.

Meimei is clever and talented. She writes poetry, and she is very good at thinking games, a skill she picked up while learning under Fengxian, a former courtesan of the house. Compared with the other two, Meimei shows her feelings more openly. She is warm and expressive, and she enjoys trading the latest gossip from the palace and the city.

She cares deeply about the Verdigris House and the people living there, and she treats it as her true home. For Maomao, Meimei is like a big sister, and the bond between the three courtesans and Maomao gives the series some of its warmest moments.
