Celia Claire

Celia Claire teaches at the royal academy of the Beltrum Kingdom, where she becomes the closest thing to a friend and mentor that the quiet, guarded boy Rio has. Their private lessons together, where she helps him with magic theory, slowly turn into real affection on her side, even though he rarely lets anyone get close to him.

Her life takes a frightening turn when her family tries to force her into marrying a noble she does not love. Rio steps in and helps free her from that arranged match, and afterward she chooses to stay by his side rather than return to her old life. Living together with him and the people who gather around him, she keeps growing as a spellcaster, eventually learning to sense magical energy directly and to use rare spirit-based magic that few scholars in the kingdom understand.

Celia is patient and dedicated, qualities that make her a natural teacher, but she is also brave enough to defy her own family and social expectations for the sake of someone she trusts. Her relationship with Rio sits at the center of her story: part student-and-teacher bond, part quiet devotion, and part found family alongside other people close to him, including the fox-eared girl Latifa and the kind-hearted princess Flora Beltrum.
