Sasaki and Peeps Season 2

Sasaki and Peeps is a comedy that mixes a quiet office-worker life with magic, psychic battles, and even a magical girl. Its second anime season is set for October 2026 (AniList lists October 7). Studio Silver Link made the first season, which aired in 2024. The story is based on a light novel series by Buncololi, with art by Kantoku. It began as a web novel in 2018, and the printed books started in 2021. The series was a big hit with readers. In the 2022 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! guide, it ranked first among novels published in larger book formats. Yen Press prints it in English, and Crunchyroll streams the anime.

The main character is Sasaki, a middle-aged office worker. His job is dull and his life is lonely. One day, he decides to buy a pet to make his small apartment feel less empty. He picks a little white Java sparrow. But this is no ordinary bird. It can talk, and it tells him it is Piercarlo, a great wise wizard, called the Star Sage, who was reborn from another world. Sasaki names the bird "Peeps."

Peeps teaches Sasaki magic and shows him how to travel between Japan and the fantasy world where Peeps comes from. Sasaki sees a chance for a better life. He begins to buy cheap goods in Japan, like sugar and chocolate, and sell them for a lot of money in the other world. His dream is simple: a calm, comfortable life with his bird friend.

Things do not stay calm for long. In modern Japan, Sasaki gets pulled into a secret world of psychics, people with special mental powers. He ends up working for a government office that deals with such people, alongside a sharp young girl named Hoshizaki, a psychic with her own strong opinions. He also meets other strange characters, including a magical girl. Meanwhile, in the other world, war is coming. Sasaki keeps juggling both lives, trying to keep everything secret.

The show's humor comes from Sasaki's calm, polite, very adult way of dealing with wild situations. He is not a young hero. He is a tired salaryman who just wants to be left in peace. The bond between him and Peeps is warm and gentle.
