Luo Xiaohei Zhan Ji: Xue Qian Pian

This is the next TV chapter of The Legend of Luo Xiaohei, the Chinese web animation created by the artist MTJJ (Zhang Ping) and his studio, Beijing Hanmu Chunhua Animation. Its Chinese name is 学前篇, which means something like 'Preschool Chapter' or 'Before School Arc'. It marks the return of the TV series after a break of about four years. The earlier episodes ran online from 2011 to 2021, with 40 episodes and three specials.

The new chapter was announced on November 15, 2025, at the Bilibili conference for Chinese animation in 2025 and 2026. Bilibili is a large Chinese video site, and it will stream the new episodes. The Paper, a Chinese news site, reported that the new part will tell stories that happen after the 'Gate of All Beings' arc. That arc is the second part of the series, where Xiaohei goes inside a video game called All Living Things to finish training quests. English Wikipedia lists the new season for October 30, 2026.

For new viewers, here is the basic setup. The hero, Luo Xiaohei, is a spirit whose true form is a small black cat. In his world, humans, spirits, and gods live side by side, but most people do not know it. A kind girl named Luo Xiaobai took him in on a rainy night and gave him his name. Later, Xiaohei met Wuxian, an old and very strong spirit who works as an Executor, a guardian who keeps the peace between spirits and humans. Xiaohei has been training to become an Executor too.

The makers have not shared much about the new story yet, so we will not guess at the plot. Fans can expect the same mix that made the series popular: gentle, funny daily life, cute character designs, and sudden, smooth, and exciting magic fights. The franchise has also grown with two movies, The Legend of Hei in 2019 and The Legend of Hei II in 2025, which helped bring many new fans to the little black cat.
