Mission: Yozakura Family names the voices of its five Gold-Rank spies ahead of the October 11 return
A new character video for Season 2's second cour casts Hochu Otsuka, Miku Ito, Yumiri Hanamori, Sumire Uesaka and Naomi Shindo as elite spies; the cour starts October 11 on MBS, TBS and 26 other channels.
Five more voices are joining Mission: Yozakura Family as the spy comedy gets ready to come back on October 11. A character trailer that went up on September 25 lines up the ten elite agents at the heart of the coming arc and confirms who will play the five that hold Gold rank.
Veteran Hochu Otsuka takes the role of Alexandryu. Miku Ito plays Shura, Yumiri Hanamori voices Cyber Demon Lord Giga, Sumire Uesaka is Dr. Mozu, and Naomi Shindo rounds out the group as Hulang. They slot into a returning ensemble headed by Reiji Kawashima as timid Taiyo and Kaede Hondo as Mutsumi, with Katsuyuki Konishi as her smothering elder brother Kyoichiro and Aoi Yuki as Shion.
Back after a summer pause
Season two debuted in April and took a break on June 28 once its first cour wrapped; counting the 27 episodes of the 2024 first season, that brought the show to 39. AniList tracks the new run as a separate entry, Season 2 Part 2, dated October 11. Broadcasts go out on MBS and TBS plus 26 more stations. Rock band Humbreaders supplies the new opening, "Forever Song," while KID PHENOMENON, a dance and vocal group, sings the ending, "I'm Still Breathing."
Behind the camera, SILVER LINK keeps the production. Mirai Minato serves as chief director and handles series composition, and Takahiro Nakatsugawa, who storyboarded and directed episodes of the first season, directs. Mizuki Takahashi designs the characters and Koji Fujimoto composes the score.
The story comes from Hitsuji Gondaira's action-comedy manga, which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from April 2019 to January 2025 and wrapped up in 29 volumes. Shueisha carries it on MANGA Plus, and Yen Press prints it in English. Its premise: shy high schooler Taiyo can only really talk to his childhood friend Mutsumi, who turns out to belong to a family of top-tier spies, and her overbearing brother does not take kindly to him. Season one can be streamed with English or Japanese audio on Hulu.
