Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love adds four cast members and a ginkgo-lined main visual
Sakura Create's January 2027 adaptation of Ayune Araragi's police romcom named Haruki Ishiya, Takuma Nagatsuka, Hiiro Ishibashi and Yu Wakui to its cast and will have a booth at Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Fest.
Rinna Milford Isshiki was hired by the police at 17 and has excelled there ever since, yet romance remains uncharted territory for her. Her partner in figuring it out is Meishi Rokutanda, a good-hearted investigator who is frankly not great at his job, and the two agree to pose as a couple so they can learn firsthand what dating is like. That setup drives Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love (sold in English as Ms. Isshiki Wants to Know About Love), whose TV adaptation is scheduled for January 2027.
On Thursday, September 24, the production shared a new main visual that pictures the pair strolling beneath ginkgo trees gone golden with the season. It came with four more names for the supporting roles:
- Danjuro Iwata: Haruki Ishiya
- Masato Nakatani: Takuma Nagatsuka
- Chikai Matsumoto: Hiiro Ishibashi
- Rena Yamakawa: Yu Wakui
All four recorded comments to mark the reveal. They round out an ensemble led by Riko Akechi, who voices Isshiki, and Shūichirō Umeda, who plays Rokutanda; both were confirmed earlier.
Kazuya Komai, whose past credits include Pita-Ten, directs for studio Sakura Create. Deko Akao writes the scripts, Shōhei Hamaguchi adapts the character art for animation, and MICHIRU supplies the soundtrack.
Ayune Araragi's original comic started running in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace in June 2020, and Yen Press publishes the English translation.
Fans in Tokyo get an early look before broadcast: the anime will be present with its own stand during the Ikebukuro district's Halloween cosplay festival, appearing on October 31 and November 1, the last two days of an event that kicks off October 30.
