Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love is an upcoming romantic comedy anime set inside a police department. The studio Sakura Create is making it, with Kazuya Komai as director and Deko Akao in charge of the series plan. It is set to begin in January 2027. The anime is based on a manga by Ayune Araragi. The story first ran from 2016 to 2017 in the magazine Monthly Comic Rex, under a different title, and it was collected into three books. In June 2020, it started again in Kadokawa's Monthly Shonen Ace, and by May 2026 it had ten books. In English, Yen Press is publishing the manga, with the first book in September 2026.

The heroine is Rinna Miliford Isshiki. She is a genius. She joined the police when she was only 17 years old, and she is now an inspector, a senior rank. She is so calm and serious at work that people call her 'Steel-Faced Rinna'. Nothing seems to shake her. Her co-workers look up to her, and criminals fear her sharp mind.

But lately, something is wrong. Rinna keeps making small mistakes, and she cannot understand why. The problem seems to happen only when one person is near her: Meishi Rokutanda. He is a detective who works under her. When he is close, her heart races, her face gets hot, and her perfect focus falls apart. Rinna is brilliant at solving crimes, but she has never been in love. She has no idea what these feelings are.

Rokutanda comes up with an unusual idea. He offers to be her pretend fiance, so that they can act like a couple, and she can study these feelings up close. Rinna agrees. She treats it almost like a case to solve. The trouble is that pretending to be in love can quickly turn into the real thing, and neither of them is ready for that.

The fun of the series comes from this gap. At work, Rinna is a cool, strong leader. In matters of the heart, she is clumsy, confused, and very cute. Many jokes come from her trying to use logic and police methods on love. Because the story takes place at a police station, there are also cases, spy-like moments, and some action scenes mixed into the romance. The manga has some fan-service moments too, so it is aimed at teens and adults.
