Purple and red light spreads across Fate Graphite in the first teaser for Berserk of Gluttony Season 2, a visual cue that his Gluttony skill is getting stronger as he and the talking blade Greed square off against new foes. Crunchyroll debuted the video during New York Comic Con on October 8 and repeated that the season is coming next year. There is still no exact premiere date.

The bigger change is behind the camera. Kenichi Ishikura, whose earlier director credits include D.C.III ~Da Capo III~ and Sakura Trick, now directs. Tetsuya Yanagisawa, who directed the first season, stays on as chief director. A.C.G.T is again the animation studio and GENCO the producer, and two key staff return: Mariko Kunisawa on series composition and Takafumi Furusawa on character designs.

The voice cast is unchanged. Ryota Osaka leads as Fate, with Tomokazu Seki as Greed and Hisako Tojo as the Holy Knight Roxy Hart. Also listed are Takehito Koyasu, who plays Aaron, plus Hitomi Sekine and Misato Matsuoka as Eris and Myne.

The sequel has been building for a while. It was announced in April 2026, and its 2027 window was confirmed in August. The first season premiered on October 2, 2023 and ran for 12 episodes; Crunchyroll streams it in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and more than a hundred other territories, and will carry Season 2 as well.

The story comes from a light novel series by Isshiki Ichika with illustrations by fame. It started life as a web serial on Shosetsuka ni Naro before GC Novels picked it up for print, and Anime.com dates its start to 2017. Fate begins it as an outcast because his skill appears to do nothing but leave him permanently starving, until killing a thief reveals that he can take in the skills of anyone he defeats. Daisuke Takino's manga version has more than 2.2 million copies in circulation, according to AnimeTV.
