Youichi Kuramochi is a second-year shortstop on Seidou High School's baseball team, known for his speed on the base paths and his sharp, quick throws in the field. As a switch-hitter who can bat from either side of the plate, he usually takes the lead-off spot in the batting order, where his speed causes the most trouble for opposing pitchers.
Off the field, Kuramochi has a delinquent-like look and attitude that can make him seem intimidating at first, but he is actually a playful prankster who enjoys teasing his teammates and spending downtime playing video games in the dorms after practice. He is almost always found near Kazuya Miyuki, with whom he shares a close, easygoing friendship built on years of playing together.
Kuramochi remembers clearly what it felt like to be pranked constantly as a nervous freshman, and he now happily passes that tradition on to the newer players, including Eijun Sawamura, whose loud personality makes him an easy target. Despite his rough edges, Kuramochi is a dependable, experienced presence on the field, combining raw speed and quick thinking to help anchor Seidou's defense and push the team's offense forward with his aggressive base running.

Ace of Diamond act II: Second Season Part 2 is the next stretch of one of the longest-running baseball anime. It begins on TV Tokyo on October 11, 2026. It follows straight on from Part 1, which aired from April to June 2026. This new season is made by the studio OLM, with Hideaki Oba as director. Earlier parts of the anime were made by Madhouse, together with Production I.G for the first series. The story comes from the manga by Yuji Terajima. The first manga ran in Weekly Shonen Magazine from 2006 to 2015 and filled 47 volumes. Its sequel, Ace of Diamond act II, ran from 2015 to 2022 in 34 more volumes. The anime has already covered a lot of this tale. The first series had 126 episodes from 2013 to 2016, and act II had 52 episodes from 2019 to 2020. After a long break, the show came back in 2026. The hero is Eijun Sawamura. He is a loud, cheerful pitcher with a strange throwing style. His pitches move in odd ways that batters find hard to hit. A scout invited him from the countryside to Seido High School in Tokyo, a famous school for baseball. There he joined a huge team full of talented players. Everyone wants to play, and only a few can be stars. The most important person for Sawamura is Kazuya Miyuki. Miyuki is the team's catcher, the player who crouches behind home plate and helps the pitcher choose each throw. He is brilliant and a bit of a tease. The bond between a pitcher and a catcher is central to the show. Sawamura also has rivals and friends on the team, like the quiet power pitcher Satoru Furuya and the gentle batter Haruichi Kominato. They push each other to get better. The big goal for every team in the show is Koshien. This is the national high school baseball tournament in Japan, held at Koshien Stadium. For Japanese students it is a huge dream, a bit like a national championship that the whole country watches. In act II, Sawamura and his teammates keep fighting for the ace spot and for a chance to reach that stage. Ace of Diamond is known for its slow, careful look at the sport. It shows long games pitch by pitch, the thinking behind each play, and the hard practice that happens off the field. It also takes time with a big cast of players, coaches, and rival schools. Part 2 is the second half of this season, so it is best watched after Part 1 and the earlier series.
