Haruichi Kominato plays second base for Seidou High School's baseball team, and despite his small, almost delicate build, he is one of the most naturally gifted hitters and fielders on the roster. He bats with a wooden bat, which is unusual for a high school player, and makes consistent, well-placed hits that are hard for opposing defenses to predict.
Haruichi joined Seidou the same year as pitcher Eijun Sawamura, and the two quickly became close friends. Calm and even-tempered where Sawamura is loud and impulsive, Haruichi often acts as the voice of reason who reminds his friend to mind his manners and think before speaking, especially around upperclassmen and coaches.
His talent naturally invites comparison to his older brother, a more experienced second baseman on the same team, and Haruichi quietly works to prove he can stand on his own rather than live in his brother's shadow. His biggest personal weakness is stamina, which he trains hard to build up over the course of the season. Supportive, sharp-eyed, and steady under pressure, Haruichi is one of the players Kazuya Miyuki and the rest of the team count on to perform reliably in close games.

Ace of Diamond act II: Second Season Part 2 is the next stretch of one of the longest-running baseball anime. It begins on TV Tokyo on October 11, 2026. It follows straight on from Part 1, which aired from April to June 2026. This new season is made by the studio OLM, with Hideaki Oba as director. Earlier parts of the anime were made by Madhouse, together with Production I.G for the first series. The story comes from the manga by Yuji Terajima. The first manga ran in Weekly Shonen Magazine from 2006 to 2015 and filled 47 volumes. Its sequel, Ace of Diamond act II, ran from 2015 to 2022 in 34 more volumes. The anime has already covered a lot of this tale. The first series had 126 episodes from 2013 to 2016, and act II had 52 episodes from 2019 to 2020. After a long break, the show came back in 2026. The hero is Eijun Sawamura. He is a loud, cheerful pitcher with a strange throwing style. His pitches move in odd ways that batters find hard to hit. A scout invited him from the countryside to Seido High School in Tokyo, a famous school for baseball. There he joined a huge team full of talented players. Everyone wants to play, and only a few can be stars. The most important person for Sawamura is Kazuya Miyuki. Miyuki is the team's catcher, the player who crouches behind home plate and helps the pitcher choose each throw. He is brilliant and a bit of a tease. The bond between a pitcher and a catcher is central to the show. Sawamura also has rivals and friends on the team, like the quiet power pitcher Satoru Furuya and the gentle batter Haruichi Kominato. They push each other to get better. The big goal for every team in the show is Koshien. This is the national high school baseball tournament in Japan, held at Koshien Stadium. For Japanese students it is a huge dream, a bit like a national championship that the whole country watches. In act II, Sawamura and his teammates keep fighting for the ace spot and for a chance to reach that stage. Ace of Diamond is known for its slow, careful look at the sport. It shows long games pitch by pitch, the thinking behind each play, and the hard practice that happens off the field. It also takes time with a big cast of players, coaches, and rival schools. Part 2 is the second half of this season, so it is best watched after Part 1 and the earlier series.
