Taki Shiina keeps MyGO!!!!! on beat as its drummer, and she is also the one quietly shaping its sound from behind the scenes as the band's main songwriter. Solitude suits her far better than company does, and that preference follows her even into her part-time job at the shop RiNG, where her short fuse and an unintentional habit of glaring at customers make her a poor match for anything resembling friendly service.
Underneath that prickly exterior sits a genuine perfectionist, someone who holds her own work to an exacting standard even when nobody is asking her to. Much of that drive traces back to her older sister, against whom Taki quietly measures herself and always seems to come up short in her own mind, whether or not that comparison is fair.
After the earlier band CRYCHIC, home to several of her current bandmates, fell apart, Taki taught herself to write music using nothing but desktop software, turning a private hobby into the backbone of MyGO!!!!!'s songs. Playing alongside guitarists Anon Chihaya and Raana Kaname, she channels her solitary nature into music that pulls the whole band together, even if she herself stays just slightly apart from it.

BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! is part of the BanG Dream! music franchise from the company Bushiroad, which mixes anime, real-life concerts, and games about girl bands. This series is a spin-off of the main BanG Dream! anime and takes place after it. Studio Sanzigen made it, with Koudai Kakimoto as director and Yuniko Ayana as the main writer. It aired for 13 episodes from June to September 2023. The show is made mostly with 3D computer graphics, called CG, but the team added hand-drawn touches to hair, eyes, and shadows so close-up faces feel softer and more expressive. The story is much more serious than the bright and cheerful earlier BanG Dream! shows. It begins with the end of a band. A group called CRYCHIC broke up, and the breakup left deep hurt in its members. Tomori Takamatsu was the band's singer. She is a quiet girl who has trouble talking to people, and she collects small things like stones and bandages because they make her feel safe. She feels lost without the band. Soyo Nagasaki, the former bassist, seems gentle and polite, but she cannot let go of the past. Taki Shiina, the former drummer, is sharp and moody, and she cares about Tomori more than she shows. Then comes Anon Chihaya. She has just moved to Haneoka Girls' Academy, the same school as Tomori, after spending time studying abroad. At her new school, being in a band is the cool thing to do, and Anon wants to fit in fast. She is cheerful and loves attention, but she also worries a lot about what others think of her. She decides to start a band and asks Tomori to join. Later, a free-spirited guitar player named Raana Kaname, who only shows up when she feels like it, also becomes part of the group. Together, these five girls slowly become the band MyGO!!!!!. But forming the band is anything but easy. Each member carries her own secrets, fears, and feelings about CRYCHIC. Small lies and silent hurt pile up. The show spends a lot of time on hard talks, long silences, and the pain of not being understood. It looks at belonging, loneliness, anxiety, and how hard it is to say what you really feel. Music becomes the way these girls finally reach each other, and Tomori's lyrics, written from her heart, are at the center of that. Many critics called it a strong, character-driven drama. It won Anime of the Year at the 2023 Reddit Anime Awards, and one of Taki's lines became so popular that it was nominated in Japan's yearly anime buzzword awards. Some reviewers felt a few scenes were too dark or that the ending felt sudden. The story continued in BanG Dream! Ave Mujica in 2025, which follows the other band formed after CRYCHIC split, and two recap films came out in 2024. For anyone who likes music stories with real emotional weight, this is a moving and memorable watch.
