Saitama

Saitama is the hero at the center of One Punch Man, and he can beat almost any enemy with a single hit. Before the story starts, he was a young man without a job who stepped in to save a child from a monster. That one moment pushed him to train for three years, doing the same hard routine of running, push-ups, and squats every day until his body could handle nearly anything.

Winning fights so easily has left Saitama bored rather than proud. He signed up with the Hero Association hoping for excitement, but his flat written-exam score placed him far below heroes who are much weaker than he is. He rarely seems to mind, and he often lets other heroes take credit for his wins, since fame was never his real goal. His calm, almost sleepy attitude in life-or-death fights is part of what makes him famous.

Saitama's closest bond is with Genos, a cyborg hero he saved from a monster who then begged to become his student and now lives with him. Their mismatched personalities, serious student and carefree teacher, give the series much of its humor. He also crosses paths with fighters like the ninja Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, who sees Saitama as a rival, and Garou, a former hero-hunter who wants to test himself against him. Even heroes such as Tatsumaki and King end up relying on him, often without realizing how much he is holding back.
