Mia Taylor skipped straight from being an American college student to enrolling at Nijigasaki High School as a third-year, despite being only fourteen years old, a jump driven purely by how exceptional her musical talent is. Raised in New York in a family of celebrated musicians, she grew up fluent in both English and Japanese, though she'd honestly rather stay home eating burgers than live up to her family's elegant reputation.
When she first joins the idol club, Mia comes across as distant and hard to read, showing little interest in connecting with the people around her. That cold exterior softens considerably over time, and she grows into someone who actively helps other members with their schoolwork, a surprisingly generous side that her early aloofness never hinted at.
Lanzhu Zhong, who calls her a genuine music prodigy, is the friend who convinced Mia to transfer to Nijigasaki in the first place, and the two remain close as fellow members of the subunit R3BIRTH alongside Shioriko Mifune. Mia also finds an unexpected creative partner in Yu Takasaki: the two of them warm up to each other while working together on music, bonding over composition in a way that slowly chips away at Mia's standoffish first impression.

This is the middle film of the three movies that close out Sunrise's Nijigasaki High School Idol Club anime. It opened in Japanese theaters on November 7, 2025, more than a year after the first part. Tomoyuki Kawamura again directed it, and Jin Tanaka again wrote the script. It later played in other countries too, such as the Philippines and South Korea. Nijigasaki is a large high school in Odaiba, Tokyo. Its idol club is known for letting each member shine on her own. School idols are students who sing and dance on stage for their school. Yu Takasaki, the club's manager, supports them all and writes songs for them. The film happens during the same stretch of time as Part 1. While one group of six went south to Okinawa, a second group goes on its own tour. The School Idol Grand Prix, a national contest to find the most popular school idols, is going on. This time the spotlight is on Karin Asaka, Ai Miyashita, Setsuna Yuki, Rina Tennoji, Shioriko Mifune, and Mia Taylor. They travel through Kansai, the region of western Japan around Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe, and perform in those three big cities. Two members get personal stories here. Mia gets a surprise when her older sister, Chloe Taylor, shows up without warning. Chloe is a new character, and her visit brings back parts of Mia's past. Setsuna also faces a hard question. Her real name is Nana Nakagawa, and Setsuna is the perfect idol self she shows on stage. Living as two people is not easy, and she has to deal with the gap between them. The film keeps the series' light, friendly tone, with sightseeing, songs, and close friendships. It also gives older fans more time with members who did not lead the first film. Karin and Ai, who sing together as the duo DiverDiva, are part of the trip, as are Shioriko and Mia, who joined in season 2 with Lanzhu. The Japanese cast returns, including Miyu Kubota as Karin, Natsumi Murakami as Ai, Coco Hayashi as Setsuna, Chiemi Tanaka as Rina, Moeka Koizumi as Shioriko, and Shu Uchida as Mia. A third and last film was announced to finish the story.
