Marina Kirarazaka

Marina Kirarazaka is first shown picking on a girl named Shizuka at school, blaming her for problems that are really happening inside Marina's own home. What the story slowly reveals, though, is that Marina is just as much a victim as the girl she targets. Her own household is falling apart because her father spent the family's money on a woman he was secretly seeing, and in her anger over that betrayal, Marina's mother takes her pain out on Marina through abuse.

Lashing out at Shizuka becomes Marina's twisted way of coping with a home life she has no control over, pinning blame on someone else for troubles that are really her father's fault. Everything changes when she meets a strange, cheerful alien named Takopi, whose simple kindness slowly starts to improve her situation and gives her a small taste of what being cared for actually feels like. With that support, Marina even begins dating her classmate Naoki Azuma, a rare bright spot in her life.

Still, the damage done to her runs deep, and in one version of events, after Takopi overhears her admit she regrets never truly hurting Shizuka years earlier, Marina's pain becomes too much for her to carry, and she takes her own life, a tragic end that reveals just how much suffering had been hiding behind her cruelty all along.
