Karma Akabane

Karma Akabane is widely seen as the strongest and smartest student in Class 3-E, a group of students sent to a separate campus after being labeled failures by the rest of their school. Karma ends up there after a violent incident that got him suspended from his old school, when he beat up a teacher who had only pretended to support him to protect his own reputation.

He is rebellious and mischievous at first, openly testing and provoking his new homeroom teacher, Koro-sensei, a strange and immensely powerful creature the students are secretly tasked with assassinating. Despite loving trouble, Karma is genuinely brilliant, scoring a perfect mark on one of Koro-sensei's toughest tests, and he remains the only student who manages to actually wound their monstrous teacher during a training exercise.

Karma has a long history with Nagisa Shiota, a former classmate turned rival, and the two push each other constantly, with their rivalry slowly growing into a close friendship built on mutual respect. He is also intellectually matched by Gakushuu Asano, the top student from the main school, giving Karma someone outside Class 3-E to measure himself against. After graduation, Karma aims for a career in politics, suggesting his sharp mind and competitive streak carry on well past his school days.
