Sylvanian Families: Freya no Colorful Everyday is a short children's anime that began in the Fall 2026 season. It is based on Sylvanian Families, the famous line of small animal dolls and dollhouses made by the Japanese toy company Epoch. The toys first came out in 1985 and are sold in many countries. In the United States they are known as Calico Critters. The show is made in full 3D computer graphics by LandQ Studios, the studio behind several earlier Sylvanian Families series, including Freya no Wonder Days in 2025. Masaaki Kawahara directs and also plans the overall story, with scripts by Chisato Matsuda. Each episode is short, about twelve minutes long. The story is set in Sylvanian Village, a peaceful place somewhere in the world where animal families live side by side. The main character is Freya, a cheerful girl from the Chocolate Rabbit family. She loves the village and all of her friends. Her best friends are Lyra, a smart and gentle Persian cat girl, and Ralph, a lively walnut squirrel boy who dreams of being a ninja. The little babies of the village often join in their fun. Together, the friends go on small adventures. They explore the village, wander into the forest, and visit an amusement park. Along the way they meet stylish older characters from the town, and fairies who live in a mysterious forest. The show's main ideas are dreams, hope, and the warm friendship between Freya and the people around her. The returning voice cast includes Aya Yamane as Freya, Saya Tanaka as Lyra, and Madoka Murakami as Ralph. This is a calm, kind series made for young children and for fans of the toys who want to see the village come to life.
