Amona Jeane

Amona Jeane grew up in a village outside the protective barrier that shelters most of her world's human society, an upbringing that pushed her to become an adventurer mainly so she could earn enough money to live independently. She works as a dark summoner and treasure hunter, a profession that carries a certain stigma because of what she is: a demi-human, born partly human but treated with suspicion by many people who are not.

That suspicion follows her directly into her own adventuring party, where the priest Roni distrusts her because of her demi-human background. Amona herself is mostly a realist, practical and grounded about money and survival, though she also has a notably edgier, less conventional side to her personal interests that sets her apart from her more straight-laced companions.

Her relationship with Roni shifts unexpectedly after the two end up sleeping together one night, leaving them both tangled in feelings neither is willing to admit out loud. Even as their fellow party members start to notice how close the two have grown, Amona and Roni each insist there is nothing romantic going on between them, caught in a very obvious state of denial that drives much of the story's tension.
