JK Dark Summoner to Deki......Dei Nai!?

This is a tiny bonus anime that comes with the fall 2026 TV series Dark Summoner to Dekiteiru (in English, I'm Dating a Dark Summoner). A new short piece plays each week together with an episode of the main show. According to AniList, it is shown only on the AT-X channel broadcast and online on the Abema streaming service. On the Bandai Channel streaming site, these shorts are grouped as the show's Mini Anime Theater.

The main series is based on a manga by the artist Shaoh. It has run online since November 2021 and is published by Fujimi Shobo, part of KADOKAWA. Eight books were out by October 2026. The full TV anime started in early October 2026. It is a short-form show made for an adult audience under WWWave's Deregula label, and HIDIVE streams it in North America and some other English-speaking regions.

The main story is a fantasy romantic comedy. It follows Amona, a dark summoner who is part human and part something else, and Roni, a strict priest who wears glasses. Amona joins Roni's adventuring party, and right away the two end up much closer than they planned. After that, they both insist they are not a couple, even though the other members of their party can clearly see the truth.

The mini anime takes these same characters and turns them into SD versions. SD stands for super-deformed. It is an anime style where characters are drawn small and cute, with big heads and short bodies. Bandai Channel describes the shorts as a slapstick comedy. Slapstick means silly, physical humor, like falls and over-the-top reactions. The mood is very different from the main show, and the shorts tell their own small stories.

The cast from the main series returns. Rei Takano voices Amona, Yuuki Nishiyama voices Roni, Akane Nishimura plays Hal, Maya Yashika plays Eurie, and Houdentei Senmai voices the little demon Imp. The shorts are made by a separate team from the main series. Akari Arimiya handles directing, animation, and character design, Chihiro Endou writes the music, and Frontwing is credited with the animation production.

These shorts are best for viewers who already watch the main series and want a light, funny extra each week.
